Description: The monolith is situated inside an olive grove, in the countryside between Carpignano and Serrano, along a wall that delimits a private property, covered by brambles. Rushes and a fig tree can be found in the surrounding area. The menhir has moss and lichens on the surface; there is also a deep notch, 45 cm from the South side, along the corner lying on the ground. A groove is visible halfway the monolith.   The corners are well-rounded, perhaps due to phenomena of erosion.

Historical Notes: The news of the discovery of the monolith was reported on ‘La Gazzetta di Lecce’ of 1st March 2013. It was made by the archaeologist Cristiano Villani, who immediately reported it to the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage.
